Youth Initiative (YI) is a youth run and youth led organization committed to create platform for the growth of generational leaders through information, empowerment and involvement. YI works in a variety of areas such as youth empowerment, promotion of civic education, governance, civic leadership development and democratization of student and youth organizations in Nepal. YI is implementing its Strategic & Operational Plan - 2009/13.

We are seeking the following candidates to join us:

Program Assistant -2 - Kathmandu

Overall Responsibility:

The Project Assistant (PA) will be responsible to assist YI staffs to manage Various Ongoing Programs and Seminars, Workshops and Discussions/Dialog.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Assist in designing Projects as required to achieve the objective of the Programs.
Ensure that project activities are timely carried out in all Strategic locations.
Assist in implementation of post program (follow up) activities.
Collect information required to prepare reports and assist Program Officer/Manager to prepare final reports for submission to partner organizations.
Participate with the team to plan, coordinate, and manage program events.
Pay regular visits to district for regular coordination and training purposes.
Assist in coordination with other NGOs to share information on areas of common interest in regard to Projects
Perform other job-related duties including participation in meetings as assigned.

Qualifications:

At least Bachelor's Degree from a recognized Board/University.
At least 2 years of progressive working experience with Youth.
Significant knowledge of Civic,political and governance Issues.
Ability to work independently or as a team player.
General computer skills are essential- Internet, emails and MS EXCEL and MS Word.
Focused individual with capacity to plan and manage in a multiple deadline working environment .
