Pushpa Basnet

22 year old Pushpa Basnet loves to work with children which led her to volunteer in Balmandir and Child Protection Home. She is currently doing her Bachelor’s 2nd year in Social Work at St.Xavier’s College. With her own effort she has opened an 'After School Program' “Play Room” at both these places. She has also volunteered in CONCERN Nepal and in Women and Children Cell where she has opened a counseling room. She is also interested in sports and has participated and won in various sports competition such as athletics, javelin throw, squash championship etc. Pushpa strives to become an established social worker and help the needy people.

Early Childhood Development Centre is her effort to provide a protective and healthy environment to the children living with their parents in the prison. She believes that it gives the children the opportunity to come out and grow in a healthy environment.

Jiban Baral

Jiban Baral, 22 years old is currently pursuing his BBS 3rd year studies in Pokhara. He also conducts his media agency named I dreamz Ads and Entertainment. He was involved in various social works and institutions from an early age. He has remained Youth Member of Family Planning Association of Nepal, President of Students Welfare Club of Janapriya Campus and also Founding Coordinator of Public Campus Students Welfare Committee, Kaski. He strongly believes that people should be socially conscious and also be involved in various activities for the welfare of the society. In his school days he was actively involved in Youth Red cross Circle and other programs organized by the school. He aims to be a social entrepreneur in his life.

His project Yuwa Forum which is youth led and youth run is targeted towards youth in and around Pokhara. Yuwa Forum Aims in raising awareness among youths towards various social and youth issues. Yuwa Forum also fulfils the need of organizations that help in creating social awareness among youths.

Subhash Ram Prajapati

25 yrs old Subhash Ram Prajapati aims to make this world a better place to live with the mutual cultural understanding and strong feeling of cultural co-existence. He has published 2 books and more than 50 articles in various newspapers, journals and magazines. He has also worked for various institutions like Newah Culture and Language Institute, Sikkim. Currently he is the member of Curriculum Design of Optional Music in Secondary Level. He is also a Program Designer and presenter in Times FM. He also writes and develops contents for various web portals. He has completed his Masters degree in Nepal Bhasha and is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Nepalese History, Culture and Archeology. He was also awarded by various awards like Motilani Award, Shreegopal Award and many other awards. Including various parts of Nepal, he has also visited countries like Finland Slovenia, Germany and India. Currently he is involved in more than 10 organizations.

With the help of his project "Youth for Culture Preservation" he is planning to initiate and involve youths for the exploration and preservation of culture. He is trying to start this project by documenting all talas, preparing all notations and recording all the talas of musical instrument Dhimay. In the first phase of his project, he will teach and empower 10 youths in the same activity. In the next phase they will teach other 10 youths each and thus this initiation will reach to 100 people in the second phase, 1000 in the third and so on. He thinks this will be a pioneer work for the cultural preservation with youth participation with the strong basis of starting of Nepalese ethno musicological studies and strong probability of cultural tourism in Nepal.

Surya Prasad Acharya

Surya Prasad Acharya, 27 years old is permanent resident of Nadipur-3, Pokhara. He started being involved in social affairs from Suryodaya Yuwa Club of Pokhara where he was joined by his friends later on. Currently he is working as an accountant at Janapriya Multile College, Pokhara and also pursuing his master’s level studies in Economics. Being active in social work is one of his hobbies and his aim is to be a good social worker as well as a good auditor. He wants to make his career in both auditing and social work. He thinks that he will be able to build positive attitude and involvement of youths towards social work. He feels great to have been able to build leadership skills and personality development in his friends and himself with various social involvements.

His project is to increase number of books and magazines in the library and create a platform Bichar Manthan where people can have discussions on various contemporary issues. He thinks that the club will be effective in informing and empowering youths. Easily accessible library will help many youths to develop their potentiality. This will also help the club and will be easy to develop leadership skills in the next generation of the club itself. This will also help the youths to utilize their leisure time by being involved in the library and the program Bichar Manthan. This project aims to bring positive development in the society and help youths represent at the leading and decision making level.

Sonam Tashi Lama

20 years old Sonam Tashi Lama was born in Yamphudin village of Taplejung District. He was the first person of his village to pass SLC examination in first division which gave him more responsibilities towards his village. He used to get scholarships and other awards which helped him in his studies. He also used to participate and win in various activities organized by his school. He has done I. Sc. in forestry from Institute of Forestry, Hetauda. He has a hobby of photography and has also attended trainings regarding it. He has also volunteered in Kanchanjungha Conservation Area Program. He was also involved in various other works like conducting eco clubs, surveying community forest etc. Currently he is doing his Bachelors Degree in Sociology in Tri-Chandra Campus.

His project “Youth Library and Study Center” aims to inform rural youths about various issues and to empower them. The library will be based in his own village. The library will benefit many youths and other people. This will also help the people of that place and its periphery to utilize their leisure time. Good Infrastructure, greater outreach, easy learning and making it more efficient are some of the future aims of the project.
