Youth Initiative has been constantly advocating for youth rights and the involvement of youths in all levels of decision making and development activities.

Programs and Policies for Youth of Nepal

On 12 August 2005, Youth Initiative organized a Roundtable Programs and Policies for Youth of Nepal. it brought youth organizations, policy/decision makers, government agencies and donors in a common platform and analyzed the present situation of programs and policies for youth of Nepal and came up with a roadmap for common framework for action.

National Youth Policy

Youth Initiative has also been advocating for "National Youth Policy" and establishment of a "Youth Commission".

Youth Initiative conducted a Youth Conference on National Youth Policy as part of its ongoing advocacy for National Youth Policy. It was organised also to mark the International Youth Day on 12 August 2004.

International Youth Day 2004

Youth Initiative took the lead role in the celebration of the International Youth Day 2004 in Nepal. It was the first time that the celebration was done in a collaboration of the government and non-government agencies. Youth Initiative took this opportunity to advocate for National Youth Policy and also to bring together youth from various walks of life to get their voices heard through a Youth Rally.

Youth Perspectives on Development

Youth Initiative conducted a series of workshops and conference to produce a document "Youth Perspectives in Development" for the purpose of Nepal Development Forum 2004. This was the first time that youth voices were considered in putting up the development plans and policies in Nepal. The Report was submitted to the Nepal Development Forum 2004.
